RETURN TO WORK PROGRAMME

The Returners Project

A Coaching Programme for Returning to Work

How you feel, what you think, and the actions you take shape your reality - so your return to work is your chance to shape it with clarity, confidence and real momentum.

Whether you're preparing to go on leave, currently on leave, or already back after time away, this next chapter deserves proper support to help you thrive from day one.

The Returners Project gives you that support: a dedicated space to rebuild confidence, reconnect with what matters most, and return on your own terms, alongside others doing the same.

Programme Overview

Taking time away from work, whether preparing to go on leave, currently on leave, or returning after an extended period, can bring a mix of emotions and challenges. The Returners Project is designed to help people find and maintain the harmony they need, both in and out of work.

The programme pairs tailored 1-2-1 coaching with a supportive group cohort, helping returners plan, adapt and transition at every stage, so the experience feels balanced, sustainable, and aligned with what matters most to them.

Whether conducted face-to-face or virtually, the programme is tailored to address the unique challenges people face when returning to work, fostering a supportive environment for growth, development, and self-discovery.

Who is this aimed at?

This programme is open to you if you're returning to work after:

Maternity or paternity leave

Caring responsibilities

Bereavement leave

Long-term sickness absence

Career breaks or sabbaticals

When does it start?

Our founding cohort launches 14 September 2026, limited to just 12 places.

This is a pilot - our intention is to run The Returners Project three times a year going forward, so if you are interested in a later cohort please get in touch.

What are the benefits?

For the individual -

Tailored, 1-2-1 Coaching: Before the programme launches and again as it closes, you get dedicated 1-2-1 coaching to customise the journey to your goals and set a forward plan that carries your momentum beyond the programme.

Positive Psychology and Wellbeing: The Returners Project integrates principles of positive psychology and wellbeing practices to promote your resilience, self-confidence, and overall mental and emotional wellness.

Self-Discovery in Good Company: A supportive group cohort where you can explore your strengths, values and next chapter alongside others at the same stage, so you're not figuring it out alone.

Rebuilds Confidence: 37% of people experience a loss of confidence when returning to work after time away, which is exactly why structured support matters. (Source: CIPD, People Management, 2021)

Backed by Feedback: Personal Growth Collective coaching cohorts average a 9.25/10 participant rating, reflecting the real impact of tailored, human support during change.

For the employer -

Structured Reintegration: A well-supported return helps returners settle back into their role and team faster, protecting the knowledge, relationships and momentum already built - consistent support that doesn't just rely on the line manager, who can vary in capacity and experience.

Improves Retention: UK staff turnover has hit 34%, costing businesses an average of £30,614 per departure - a structured return is one of the most cost-effective ways to protect the experience and knowledge already in a team. (Source: CIPD)

Drives Real Conversion: Structured returner programmes work - over 85% of National Highways returnship participants converted into ongoing roles, with more than a quarter going on to be promoted. (Source: National Highways / CIPD)

Enhances Talent Attraction: Demonstrating a genuine commitment to supporting returners helps organisations attract a broader range of candidates who are weighing up how a workplace treats people through transitions, not just how it hires them.

Optional Employer Partnership: As an optional step, some employers financially support programmes like this, so it can be worth exploring with yours - we're happy to speak directly with HR or a manager if that's helpful.

Learning Outcomes

The below learning outcomes are split into three themes and will be covered in each programme, however the syllabus will be designed to specifically meet the needs of each group.

I am my unique self.

Defining what success means to you now: Identify what success and happiness looks like for you at work and home today, setting clear goals to be the best version of you, post-transition.

Showing up in your own way: Define your values, purpose and priorities, and reconnect with the personal brand and working style that feels authentically you.

Feeling good about the brilliant person you are: Build your self-awareness and rediscover your unique strengths, daring to lead and contribute brilliantly in your own way.

I am empowered.

Quietening the inner critic: Remove the shackles of imposter syndrome by cultivating self-belief, understanding how and where you add value, and recognising the value you bring back with you.

Leading with emotional intelligence: Further develop your emotional intelligence to navigate complex interpersonal dynamics as you reintegrate into your team.

Building trust: Foster a sense of psychological safety in your return, enabling trust, autonomy and confidence to rebuild at your own pace

I make things happen.

Having confidence in your decisions: Strengthen your intuition and have the confidence to make principled decisions that align with your values and purpose, even in challenging situations.

Creating flexibility to thrive: Cultivate the work/life balance needed to thrive, learning tools and techniques to balance work and personal commitments to achieve sustainable success.

Embedding and keeping up the momentum: Consolidate what you've learned and stay connected to your cohort once the programme ends, so the progress you've made continues to build.

Investment

The cost of the programme is £475 per person (inc. VAT) for the founding cohort.

This can be paid in one sum, or spread over 3 monthly payments of £160 if that's easier.

"My company organised the return to work coaching for me and I was so grateful. Stacey's coaching really helped me to establish a routine when getting back to work, so that I could still focus on my career and create the boundaries I needed to be the parent I wanted to be with my son."
